BEIRUT (Reuters) - A blast was heard in a southern area of the Lebanese capital Beirut on Wednesday, but the cause was not immediately clear, residents and a security source said.
One witness said she saw a plume of smoke rising in the area.
Beirut's southern suburbs are a stronghold of the militant movement Hezbollah and have been the target of several bomb attacks in recent months.
