A grandfather shot and killed his adult daughter and her six children on Thursday at a home in Bell, Florida, police confirmed to local CBS affiliate WJAX-TV.
Police received a call about the mass shooting around 4 p.m., The Gainesville Sun is reporting. The officer who responded confronted the man, who then committed suicide.
Gilchrist County Sheriff's office is investigating and did not identify the victims. However, police told WJAX the child victims' ages range from 3 months to 10-years-old.
Earlier, sources speaking to David Snyder of WCJB-TV said it was likely a murder-suicide.

On Facebook, the sheriff's office wrote: "At 4 pm today, Gilchrist County deputies responded to an incident at a residence in Bell. No citizens are in danger. At this time we are asking for prayers as we continue to investigate this incident."
